Defendant, Steven Gagliani, was charged by indictment with home invasion (Ill.Rev. Stat.1987, ch. 38, par. 12-11), residential burglary (Ill.Rev.Stat.1987, ch. 38, par. 19-3), armed robbery (Ill.Rev.Stat.1987, ch. 38, par. 18-2(a)), and two counts of aggravated criminal sexual assault (Ill.Rev.Stat.1987, ch. 38, par. 12-14(a)(1)).
