Defendant Darwin Sullivan was charged with four counts of first-degree murder and one count of aggravated battery. The trial court granted defendant's motion to suppress oral statements given to the Springfield police on January 3, 1990. The State appeals the suppression order, arguing defendant's Miranda rights were not violated because police officers ceased interrogating defendant after he requested...
