The dispositive issue before us is whether a circuit court's order denying a jury trial, in a case instituted in and still pending in the circuit court, is immediately appealable.

The facts relevant to this issue can be briefly stated. The present circuit court proceedings began when the Maryland Deposit Insurance Fund Corporation (MDIF) filed in the Circuit Court for Baltimore City a "Complaint for Interpleader" naming as defendants the appellant...
