During the course of a bitter custody dispute between appellant G. Brinton Motheral and his wife, Gretchen Burkhart, from whom he is now divorced, appellant allegedly threatened his wife's mother, Ann Burkhart. The incident resulted in the filing of criminal charges against appellant, all of which were later dropped or nolle prossed.
