On September 23, 1988, the Illinois Department of Labor (IDOL) filed a complaint in the circuit court of Marion County alleging that the defendant, Schwartz, had violated various provisions of the Illinois Minimum Wage Law (IMWL) (Ill.Rev.Stat.1987, ch. 48, par. 1001 et seq.).
