Appellants Cynthia McCullough and Michael McCullough, her husband, filed a complaint in trespass on January 10, 1983 against appellee Xerox Corporation ("Xerox"). As stated by the trial court:

Plaintiff [Cynthia McCullough] commenced employment with the Defendant in August of 1979 as a technical representative. Her duties included repairing and cleaning photo copy machines using various chemicals...
