Pursuant to Supreme Court Rule 308(a) (Ill.Rev.Stat.1987, ch. 110A, par. 308(a)), the defendant, Hunter Engineering Company, has been granted leave to appeal from an order denying its motion to dismiss a negligence cause of action brought by the plaintiff, Karen Cates.
