By statutory notice of deficiency dated April 12, 1984, respondent determined deficiencies in petitioners' joint Federal income tax for taxable year 1980 in the amount of $29,099.84 and an addition to tax pursuant to section 6653(b)1 in the amount of $14,549.92.2
