DOCTOROFF, J.

Defendant was convicted of larceny over $100, MCL 750.356; MSA 28.588, and sentenced to one year in the county jail. On appeal, defendant argues that his conviction should be set aside and the case remanded to the trial court for entry of a conviction of larceny under $100 and resentencing because the prosecutor failed to prove the value of the stolen item. We disagree and affirm.
