On July 3, 1986, defendant was convicted by a jury of six felony violations including, inter alia, conducting a continuing criminal enterprise ("CCE"), 21 U.S.C. § 848; manufacture of methamphetamine, 21 U.S.C. § 841(a)(1); and attempt to manufacture methamphetamine, 21 U.S.C. §§ 846 and 841(a)(1).
