MEMORANDUM OPINION AND ORDER

This matter comes before the Court on the defendants' Motion for a Directed Verdict. For the reasons discussed below, the Motion is GRANTED.

I. Background

The plaintiff, Elizabeth Hoban, is the widow of Lt. James P. Hoban, a Navy pilot. Lt. Hoban was killed on May 22, 1986 when the A-6E aircraft he was piloting crashed shortly after takeoff from the Naval Air Station (NAS) Oceana...
