During the early morning hours of Sunday, March 30, 1986, Natalie Iris Pinkerton and her boyfriend, Peter Paulo, brought twenty-one-month-old R.J. to the hospital emergency room. Although R.J. appeared to be dead, physicians attempted to revive him.
