Article I, section 1 of the California Constitution declares that privacy is among the people's "inalienable rights." The principal question in this appeal is whether a private employer violates that constitutional provision by asking all job applicants to consent to a urinalysis which tests for alcohol and other drugs as a condition of an offer of employment.
