Background

This case, in federal court under diversity jurisdiction, involves two insurance companies fighting over which shall pay damages to a woman who lost her left leg due to the medical malpractice of their insureds — a hospital and a doctor. In one of life's cruel ironies, the saga of Marion Jones' medical treatment comes to an end much the same way it began almost fifteen years ago...
