Appellant was originally charged with domestic violence assault, a class one misdemeanor, pursuant to A.R.S. § 13-1203(A)(1), in the Phoenix Municipal Court. Phoenix Municipal Court Judge Elizabeth R. Finn later accepted a misdemeanor compromise of the matter pursuant to A.R.S. § 13-3981, over the state's objection, and dismissed the complaint with prejudice.
