Plaintiffs commenced this action under the Federal Employers' Liability Act ("FELA"), 45 U.S.C. § 51 et seq., against the Long Island Rail Road Company (the "LIRR") in April 1984. Plaintiffs, employees of the LIRR, claim that they were injured in February 1983, when a LIRR work truck in which they were riding was involved in a collision.
