A jury convicted appellant of armed robbery, D.C.Code §§ 22-502, -3202 (1981 & 1986 Supp.), and carrying a pistol without a license, D.C.Code § 22-3204 (1981). The court sentenced him to consecutive prison terms of 14 to 42 years for the armed robbery and two to six years for carrying the pistol.
