Plaintiff commenced this action pursuant to 42 U.S.C. § 1983 for alleged violations of his federal constitutional rights and rights guaranteed by state law. In particular, the plaintiff charges that defendants are liable for injuries which he suffered when stabbed by a fellow inmate at the Metro Correctional Institute in Atlanta, Georgia.
