Danny Schell (defendant) was charged by bill of information with simple escape from the Louisiana State Penitentiary at Angola, a violation of LSA-R.S. 14:110(A)(1). Defendant pled not guilty. Schell was tried by jury with Francis Serigny1 following the trial court's granting of their joint motion for consolidation. Defendant was convicted as charged and sentenced to a five year term of imprisonment at hard labor...
