The defendant, Edgar Hope, Jr., and a codefendant, Alton Logan, were charged with murder, attempted murder and two counts of armed robbery stemming from an armed attack on two security guards in a McDonald's restaurant on Chicago's south side. Following a jury trial in the circuit court of Cook County, both defendants were found guilty of the charges...
