The appellants, who are detectives in the Hennepin County Sheriff's Department, appeal from a judgment and an order denying their motion for a new trial. The trial court determined that the respondent union (L.E.L.S.) did not breach its duty to fairly represent the detectives when it negotiated the 1982 and 1983 collective bargaining agreements between the Sheriff's Department and the County.
