On January 10, 1985 the defendant was indicted for a violation of the Lacey Act, 16 U.S.C. §§ 3372(a)(2)(A) and 3373(d)(1)(B). The indictment alleges that the defendant knowingly transported and sold in interstate commerce from Maine to Pennsylvania two black bears with a market value in excess of three hundred and fifty dollars knowing that the wildlife was taken, possessed, transported and sold in violation...
