On September 8, 1980, the defendant-appellant, Rickie Lee Hunt, was tried by a jury, convicted of and sentenced for the offenses of aggravated murder, R.C. 2903.01(B), aggravated robbery, R.C. 2911.01(A)(2), kidnapping, R.C. 2905.01(A)(2), and having a weapon while under disability, R.C. 2923.13. Two attorneys were appointed by the court to provide Hunt's legal representation.

A direct appeal was taken from the convictions and this court affirmed...
