In May 1978, plaintiffs, McMullen, Bagley, Flaherty, Tinney and Grant brought this action against the Dowleys to quiet title to a tract of woodland in Roque Bluffs. The Dowleys answered and counterclaimed, asserting that they and their predecessors had established title through adverse possession under 14 M.R.S.A. §§ 801, 815 or 816 (1980).
