James Willie Goodwin filed this action under § 1 of the Civil Rights Act of 1866, 42 U.S.C. § 1981, alleging racial discrimination in two counts. Count I of the complaint states that defendant Be-Mac Transportation discharged Goodwin from his job as an over-the-road truck driver because Goodwin is black.
