On September 29, 1982, Lester Engineering Company ("Lester"), defendant-appellee, announced the closing of its Church Avenue manufacturing facility. On October 1, the Union filed a grievance alleging that the plant closing was either a plant move in violation of Section 14.1 of the collective bargaining agreement or sub-contracting in violation of Section 5.5 of the collective bargaining agreement.
