This action concerns the death of a woman from Detroit as she was assisting in the transportation of civil rights marchers on the Selma to Montgomery Voting Rights March in 1965. Mrs. Liuzzo was shot and killed on the evening of March 25, 1965, as she was driving one of the marchers back to Montgomery from Selma.
