This appeal arises from the consolidation of a support action and a partition action that involved the same parties.

The first action was brought by the State of New Mexico's Human Services Department (HSD) against Alfonso Martinez (Father) for reimbursement of public assistance paid to his former wife, Maria Martinez (Mother), for their children.
