This controversy arises from the construction by a Superior Court justice of the May 29, 1969 will of Dorothy Bateman Beck (Dorothy), who at the time of her death in November 1972 owned the Bateman Farm, a parcel of land of almost sixty acres situated in the town of Tiverton on the westerly side of Punkateest Neck Road.
