OPINION

COMPTON, Justice.

Appellant, Peter A. Jarvis [Jarvis], was injured in an automobile accident in Ketchikan on March 12, 1975, while riding as a passenger in an automobile driven by Stephen Console [Stephen]. The automobile [loaner car] had been loaned to Stephen by Brand Volkswagen while his car was in the shop for repairs. Stephen was named in a policy issued to his father, Frank Console [Frank], a resident of the City of Santa Barbara, California...
