Defendants Harley Libby, Stephen Yates, and Paul Parsons appeal from their convictions in Superior Court, Aroostook County, of arson and criminal mischief.1 They complain that they were denied a fair trial because a remark made by a witness at trial and a newspaper article to which some of the jurors were exposed may have revealed to the jury that defendants had been tried before for the same crimes.
