Defendants Carl Overdahl and Neil Chrisman, students at Washington State University, were tried without a jury and convicted of possession of more than 40 grams of marijuana, a felony. Chrisman was also convicted of possession of lysergic acid diethylamide (LSD). Both defendants appealed and the Court of Appeals affirmed their convictions. State v. Chrisman, 24 Wn.App. 385, 600 P.2d 1316
