Plaintiff Danny Hiner's car slid out of control on an icy bridge and was hit by another vehicle. Danny and Lorri Hiner were seriously injured and Vicki Duggan was killed. The bridge spans the I-94 expressway and is located on County Line Road, the common border of Macomb and St. Clair counties.
