California bankrupt Alfred Bassin appeals from a bankruptcy court order, affirmed by the district court, which upheld the Trustee determination that Bassin was entitled to a homestead exemption under California Civil Code § 1260, 1976 Cal.Stats., ch. 132, § 1 (current version at Cal.Civ.Code § 1260 (West Supp. 1979)), of $20,000. Bassin argues that his exemption should instead be the $30,000 amount in effect under that statute...
