The defendant was tried by jury and convicted of armed robbery under A.R.S. §§ 13-641 and 13-643. He appeals from the conviction and sentence of the Superior Court of Maricopa County of not less than 20 years nor more than life. The offense in question occurred when the defendant and one James Ferguson were being transferred from a pretrial hearing to the county jail.
