On May 23, 1978, defendant, Esther Fields, was arrested pursuant to a Magistrate's arrest warrant for unlawful possession of dilaudid, a Schedule II controlled substance. On June 22, 1978, an indictment charging 38 counts of controlled substance act violations issued. Defendant was arraigned on those counts on June 29, 1978, at which time trial was set for August 28, 1978 and a status call and motions hearing...
