Lionel Muse and Raymond Williams were jointly charged by bill of information with the crime of simple burglary. Subsequently, the State amended the bill of information to charge defendants in two separate counts with the crime of theft of property valued in excess of $500 in violation of R.S. 14:67 and receiving stolen things valued in excess of $500 in violation of R.S. 14:69.
