The four plaintiffs in this case are employees of the cross-isthmus railroad operated by the Panama Canal Company in the Canal Zone. They are an engineer, a conductor, a dispatcher, and a trainman. They seek backpay from July, 1974, for the difference between the wages they received and the wage rate received by their counterparts who are employees of the Alaska Railroad in the State of Alaska.
