Plaintiff, a longshoreman, claims he was injured while performing duties on board defendant's vessel while the vessel was working cargo at Norfolk, Virginia, on September 30, 1977. Pursuant to the provisions of the Longshoremen's and Harbor Workers' Compensation Act, plaintiff received compensation from his stevedore employer from October 1, 1977, to June 11, 1978.
