Defendant, William Elmer Weekes, was found guilty by a jury of manslaughter in the first degree upon an information charging him with causing the death of a 3-year-old child by an intentional assault of striking the child in the abdomen with his fist with such force and violence that great bodily harm was reasonably foreseeable.
