Pat Stands Over Bull was removed as Tribal Chairman of the Crow Tribal Council at a regular meeting1 which convened at Crow Agency, Montana, on July 9, 1977. Stands Over Bull, as an enrolled member of the Crow Tribe of Indians, was duly elected as chairman of the Crow Tribal Council for a term of two years, commencing on July 1, 1976.
