These lawsuits involve actions for personal injury or wrongful death brought by employees of the Tennessee Valley Authority (hereinafter TVA) or their survivors. The lawsuits all arise out of an accident which occurred when portions of a tower crane collapsed at TVA's Widows Creek Steam Plant near Bridgeport, Alabama, thereby injuring or killing several TVA employees who were on the crane.
