Agnew, the defendant herein, entered a plea of nolo contendere to a one count criminal information charging him with evasion of federal income taxes in violation of 26 U.S.C. § 7201. On the same day Judge Walter E. Hoffman, of the Eastern District of Virginia, sitting by designation, accepted that plea and imposed a sentence of a $10,000 fine and three years unsupervised probation. The plea was entered...
