WENKE, J.

Appellant was convicted after a court trial of a violation of section 242 of the Penal Code, battery.

The People's evidence showed that appellant, a welfare recipient, following a telephone conversation with her welfare counselor, went to the welfare office, screamed at the counselor and struck the counselor with a crutch. Appellant denied striking the victim and contended that she was in fact the victim...
