This case raises an important question concerning the admissibility of evidence in a rape case, where consent has been made an issue, of the reputation of the prosecutrix for chastity. We are asked to decide whether a witness may be permitted to testify that the prosecutrix has a reputation for chastity or lack of chastity in a community other than the one in which she resides.
