Defendants were indicted on a charge of conspiring to distribute heroin and to possess heroin with the intent to distribute. The jury returned a verdict of not guilty in the case of Michael Hernandez and guilty in the cases of the remaining four defendants: Mildred Carrasquillo, Maria Ayala, Magda Ayala, and William Ortiz.
