William Spear (claimant) was employed as a millwright in the maintenance division of the Philco Ford Corporation (employer) for a period of 30 years. His duties were physically demanding, often requiring the movement of heavy items of various types. On March 21, 1973, while moving a metal desk on a dolly in the course of his employment, Spear sustained a disabling back injury (1973 injury). After a period of absence from work...
