Defendants, Charles Berg and William Edward Barker, were partners in an Orange County firm called Enterprise Investments and they advertised themselves as "foreclosure specialists." In this two-count indictment they were charged with Conspiracy (18 U.S.C. § 371) and a violation of 12 U.S.C. § 1709-2, the so-called "equity skimming" statute.
