RABINOWITZ, Chief Justice.

This appeal arises from the superior court's dismissal of a complaint filed under Alaska's forcible entry and detainer statutes.1 The legal sufficiency of the complaint was attacked on the grounds that it failed to state a claim upon which relief could be granted.2
