Defendant-appellant David D. Johnson pleaded guilty on December 6, 1972, to both counts of a two-count indictment. The indictment charged in Count I that on November 18, 1971, Johnson violated Title 26, U.S.C. § 5861(d), by having in his possession a sawed-off shotgun which was not properly registered.
